We review the Danby 7000BTU Portable Air Conditioner. While it can cool down a room, it will not get it into the mid 70′s on a hot day, somewhat close if the humidity is low. As ran on a WORST-CASE scenario, it doesn’t do much. In a normal situation, it can get a 90 degree room down to the lower 80′s, about 80 if the humidity is very low. It’s no power hitter, for sure. If you cover the exhaust hose, it helps get a room 10 degrees cooler, after a few hours. Portables tend to pull their weight at 9000BTU’s, and higher. Pass, or Fail? Depends on what you’re looking for. Want to take the edge off the heat? Yes. Keep your Computer Room bearable for the electronics? Yes. Want to cool a whole apartment, or large room? Depends. It’s a crap shoot. If you can tolerate warmer tempratures, you can get away with it. Otherwise, I recommend you pass this up, or go for a more powerful unit.
No more wasted space,
I’ve found that the “freezer” section of a mini fridge is pretty much a waste of space – too small to be really useful, and in constant need of defrosting. The Danby all-fridge is a great addition to my tiny kitchen. It, and a stand-alone freezer, are all I need to keep my food fresh. The veggie crisper actually works, and the can dispenser is a nice touch.

I’ve had the fridge for a little over a year now, without a single hitch or glitch. Still a great product!
